Found Objects: Ando Sensei

Found a nice video of Ando Sensei teaching katate mochi shihonage osae ichi
(wrist grasp all direction pin number one)

Shihonage – By Ando Sensei

It is in japanese, but pay close attention to how he pushes forward with his whole body, and how much care he puts into the arm position.

Notice any differences or similiarities to how we teach/train in the technique?

Boy it would be nice to have a translation of what he’s describing about the hips, knees and forward motion. Looks to me as though he’s going straight over the top with Uke’s hand & driving Uke to the floor.

maybe Greg can give us some insight on some of the commentary!

another thing that is interesting, is the last move its pretty clear that you shuffle forward instead to moving strait down.

here is another video of Ando sensei doing his thing.
